Cottage Grove Inn is truly a luxury experience located right next to downtown Calistoga, surrounded by shops, restaurants and hot spring spas! I love the cottage experience. It's quiet, spacious (vaulted ceiling with skylight) and private. I checked in and found a delicious spread of cheese, jams, crackers, fruit and an assortment of wine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I walked up to my cottage, there was a small stack of firewood and a nice seating area on the private porch. I walked in to the cottage to find to a living room with two chaise lounge chairs, fireplace, King plush bed and a plush doggie bed with a food dish. The room was already cooled off temperature-wise. It also had a fully stacked snack bar (w/Keurig coffee maker with cream in the fridge), sink, and bose surround sound! The bathroom is enormous. It has two rooms. One with a huge whirlpool tub and standing shower. The other with two sinks and l'Occitane toiletries. If you're looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway, this is it! Worth every penny.

PORT LUDLOW GOLF Club has welcomed back Dick Schmidt, the course's original superintendent, to serve as head golf course superintendent.



Schmidt was one of those who oversaw the construction of the golf course before its opening 40 years ago in May of 1975.



“Dick brings an array of golf maintenance knowledge, and more importantly, a fierce passion to return the Port Ludlow Golf Club to its great standing in the golf landscapes of the Pacific Northwest,” said Vito DeSantis, Port Ludlow director of golf and head pro.



“Dick is eager to answer any of your questions, please don't hesitate to say hello if you see him out and about.”

1st of all the Welk resort is beautiful it has everything you need when you get there. The service was sublime, Dennis at the front desk was so helpful, my family and I appreciate you Dennis!! Everything was clean and fresh. The grounds are breath taking, we're from Texas is was breath taking!!! We were in a 2 bedroom it was more than enough room fro a family of 5. I will suggest if you are going to be there for a number of days go to the grocery store. Anyway The Welk left a lasting positive affect on us when we were there. Thanks again we had a GREAT TIME IN NORTHSTAR & TAHOE!!!

I stayed here by myself with the dog. I wanted a nice hotel, on the beach, that I didn't feel bad for bringing the dog back to. This was perfect. It was a little noisy, but I don't go to bed till late so I didn't mind much. As by the time I went to sleep it was all quite. The room was comfy, as was the bed. Staff was super nice, and I never felt like I was bothering them. I also didn't feel bad for walking through the lobby, with the dog, after an afternoon of playing on the beach,or watching the sunset. I'll definitely be back. But this time, hopefully, for longer and I'll try the restaurant.

We just got back from a terrific weekend at Semiahmoo Resort. Both restaurants did a great job of service, particularly Suresh (who without our asking, out-ruled the 45 minute wait the Pierside Kitchen hostess gave us this morning and quickly opened up Packers Oyster room tables so our group of 12 didn't wait long for breakfast) to Roger doing a masterful job at the Packers Oyster bar and serving food. The staff here clearly work hard to ensure their customers have a great experience and it's evident everywhere on the property, from the comfortable outside lounge couches, to multiple outdoor games available (croquet, volleyball, ping pong, soccer ball and more), to a terrific spa and workout facility. Lots to do here!


This was our first time, and we'll surely be back. Great job, Semiahmoo!
